NBA players reuse jerseys sometimes. They don’t wear the same jerseys for every game but they also don’t wear new jerseys for every game. The jerseys are washed every game and are handled with care by equipment managers.  There is a certain amount of jerseys made each year but it is a limited amount and can be expensive to replace.

The NBA equipment managers are very experienced in adding names and numbers to jerseys. They are also quick to prepare a jersey for new players. For example, if a new player is signed to a ten day contract, the equipment manager is able to make a jersey for him on the day of the game.

Why Do NBA Players Exchange Jerseys?

NBA players exchange jerseys with each other as a sign of respect and love for their former teammates or childhood friend. NBA players also exchange jerseys with their idols as a sign of admiration.

The jerseys exchanged hold important memories of the players and it represents an important story for each player.

NBA players also love to give their jerseys to fans.
